Today turned out to be a pretty hot one: our first hot day of the year, and humid to boot from an overnight rain shower.  I'm not excited about tomorrow, which is also supposed to be over 80.  Mugs.

I spend today taking pics at Ladew Topiary Gardens: some for the shop, some to practice, and all for fun.  These ones are some from the gardens; more posts to come.

If you've never been to Ladew, its a great way to spend the day -- lovely scenery, good food in the cafe (closed on Tuesday and Wednesday! plan accordingly!), or plenty of green space to bring a picnic.  For your creative side, it is a wonderful place to take pictures (ahem, practice your photography!), paint, or get inspiration from nature.

There are 22 acres of gardens to view, a nature walk (about a mile), and a house tour you can take to peep Harvey Ladew's personal belongings, art collection, library, and antiques.  There is an additional studio of Harv's (a converted barn) that you can peruse some of his personal paintings.  Overall, a great place to spend the day, especially if you are in the Baltimore/Towson/Harford County area.
