So we've come to the end of our French/Swiss journey.  We spent our last day full day in Geneva rounding up fleas at the local market (which falls on Wednesdays and Saturdays -- yaay!  I was so thankful we hit one of these days!).  We took the bus with our free hotel passes and got to the square early; vendors were still setting up.  This was fine; we ended up making several rounds to cover the area, which was neat b/cs inevitably you miss seeing things the first time around.

Josh left us for a bit to explore a nearby record store.  Kara got some souvenirs and I restrained myself, missing out on a Felix comic, a book on the history of underground comics (that Josh found), and several bracelets.  I was fixated on these ivory bangles I saw at a couple different vendors, but the prices were muy mucho, so I didn't feel bad.  But you know when you get haunted sometimes by the desire of wanting something?  Well, that oddly happened with these plain, bone bangles.  I was transfixed!  I couldn't stop thinking about them.

Anyway, after a day of shopping we ate delicious burgers at the popular Holy Cow!, around the corner.  It was super busy and kind of pricey, but the burgers were tasty.  Across the street was a hair design school.  I was tempted to find out if they took walk-in models - (twice I have gotten my hair cut for free for teaching purposes while on vacation: the first time in London, the second in San Francisco!).

The next day we left, getting stuck overnight in London.  Thankfully the airline put us up in a hotel, gave us food vouchers, and on the flight home I watched several good movies including Drive (excellent film! much better than I expected; I tend to avoid hyped up pop culture/media) and Dangerous Liaisons (John Malkovich is sooo good!  dark, sinister characters with some great humor injected).

And... upon arriving home I was fiending for some thrift store action.  At the local store, just after I was checking out, guess what I spied across the counter?  A sweet and simple ivory bangle!  I almost couldn't believe it!  Now, I'm not 100% sure if it is genuine ivory, but it has the color tone and variations of ivory, and subtle detail of the natural material.  But hey, it could be celluloid, what do I know?  I do know I was pleased, ecstatic even, and felt curiously lucky.  It was next to a sweet brass bangle that I additionally purchased, both for under $4.00.  Sweet!

Now to save up again for the next adventure.  =)
