A great day and a ton of antiques @the spring Gettysburg, PA sidewalk antique fair.  Met up w/the nieces and bro and sister-in-law after lunchtime, as the sun's heat increased, and as did my thirst and hunger for a normal-scheduled mealtime (rewarded later w/a delayed Famous Hot Weiner Special).  Great finds, fun, and a Saturday well-spent.

nicely detailed life-size sculptures.  I totally thought that sweater was real wool and his shirt was cotton, like maybe the locals change it periodically.  Nope: painted metal.

Spring antiquing time in the town of Gettysburg, PA!  Neat things to look at; I, of course, was the first to purchase something at the first vendor table we came across.  Many locals took advantage of the sale - yard sales were everywhere, the local high school drama troupe was selling refreshments, local churches as well, with plant sales and flea markets.  Even the local library was having a book sale/donations-welcome table.  We've been to this market several times over the past few years and despite today's beautiful weather, I feel there were fewer folks than I recall in the past.  

We have never been able to get there early enough to compete with the serious buyers, so maybe it's a different scene in the early morning.  Alack and alas, I may never know.

For those of you who have never been to an antique market, it's a ton of fun if you are interested in history, don't mind walking around a TON, and enjoy talking with people.  Bring snacks and water; it usually gets hottt and the local hot dog vendors may sell out before you get desperate enough to break down and grab one.
