365 Project: Week 3: More Snow, Flowers in the Attic for Valentine's, Shopping, Bugs, and Bites

Feb. 14, 2014.  View from front window.

Feb. 14, 2014 Friday/Valentine's Day.  It snowed more last night, putting about 6 more inches on the ground.  The trees look amazing caked in snow, their branches covered in white.  But as the day moves on and the sun peeks out, the snow is dripping and sloughing from the trees, which is not as romantic to look upon.
I scrubbed the shower.  This took me all day.  There is a small spot in the corner that persists -- it has been there since the beginning of time.  It is my nemesis.
Watched the Lifetime remake of V.C. Andrew's Flowers in the Attic for Valentine's!  What a messed up story!  I love that feel-bad stuff.

Feb. 15, 2014 Saturday.  This is my day off this weekend, although we do get Monday as President's Day holiday.  Josh and I did "breakfast buddies" (basically getting breakfast together, usually on weekends) at Bagel Works.
We doggedly watch our Olympics recordings.
I took to the shower spot with a piece of plastic as a scraper.  This totally worked.  Nemesis scratched out (until it nastily builds up for next time).

Feb. 16, Sunday.  I worked.  I couldn't find my keys after we closed the library.  Everyone patiently waited as I rooted through my bag, dumping the contents unto the floor.  Thankfully, they were there, hiding in a side pocket.  Felt like a chump, Charlie Brown-style.  Sheesh.

Feb. 17, Monday.  President's Day Holiday.  Had to take my car in for some work.  When I asked if the garage was open Monday (today) my mechanic yelled at me, scoldingly asserting that their garage was no "government operation". =)
So we dropped my car off and I greeted one of their several shop cats.  Later I notice my shoulder is itchy.  I touch my skin and notice I have a bunch of bumps.  Zits?  A rash?  ... I realize the cutie shop cat gave me a flea.  Yuck.  =(

Feb. 18th, Tuesday.  I make a cameo appearance at work so a couple of us can shimmy on over to our local senior center to tell them about our library.  We get heckled by an old man in the back playing cards.  He demands answers!  He demands basic computer lessons!  We pass out a survey asking what they would like from the library and heckling old man orders his neighboring friends to checkmark the technology training box on their sheets, whether they really want it or not.
The center director offers us lunch, which we regretfully decline.  I actually really wanted it, but I had to get to the college.
This night we get bulldozed at trivia.
J&A + some beach grass, 2007

Feb. 19, Wednesday.  I get weird on my drive home thinking about that blank space of time in my writing between 2006 through present day.  A whole lot of great and not-so-great things have happened since Josh and I got engaged and then married.  I come in the house all maudlin and crying a little bit.  Josh, as always, is great about it in an understated way.  Then he asks about dinner and I ask about steak night.  He puts his foot down and ends our nearly month-long streak of getting steak night every Wednesday at Sean Bolan's.  So we eat like bums, watching the Olympics, with a meal made for champions:  chips, dip, carrots, and for Josh, hummus.  Feast or famine around here, I tell ya.

suffering for love

Feb. 20, Thursday.  I literally, accidentally, cut myself on a piece of chocolate.

Feb. 21, Friday.  We try the new Oyster House on Main Street.  It's menu is no seafood joke; the selection is pretty awesome.  But, since I'm allergic to shellfish, it kind of sucks b/cs everything looks good and I can't have it.  Or shouldn't have it.  Anyways, I try to avoid it, lest I hurriedly excuse myself quickly after dinner and b/cm MIA for the evening.  I have to ask for the catch of the day sans topped with crab.  Pricey, but good stuff.

The Circuit
Delirium Tremenz
somebody's having a good time

Feb. 22, Saturday.  We have a Lego program at the library where we let kids loose on mountains of legos.  It's awesome.
We spend our night in Essex at a new bar/show space to see some local cover bands.  Delirium Tremenz spans the 80s to current tunes, and Exit does mostly 90s songs.  Josh doesn't recognize most of the 90s radio hits.  We hear Metallica, Dio, The Misfits, Tool, Creed, and several Stone Temple Pilots songs before we call it a night.

Skatepark in Hampden

Feb. 23, Sunday.  A great day spent in Hampden, enjoying our break from the winter weather.  Josh and Matt skate the new concrete bowl at the Skatepark of Bmore, and Katie and I shop the Avenue.  I purchase cards and cookies.  Late brunch at Golden West.  I try their new vegan french toast!  The waitress gives me a slight raised eyebrow when I order that and a side of bacon.  =)  Haha, eggs are gross!

More pics of Saturday and Sunday forthcoming.

Week three project summary:  no more daily photos of me.  They were getting tiresome; I mean, I was getting tired of looking at my own mug all the time.  Daily notations I can and will do.  I will still take pictures.  My only regret in life is not taking more pictures.
