The Alley,
which for some reason at work is pronounced "The Al-lay", as if to allay your fears(?); possibly for the
Middle French alee, which means walk or passage (according to dictionary.com).  Still, alee seem to be pronounced "al-lee", so I don't know what's going on.
not a pool for swimming, but folks do it anyway

Another segment of my mid-April Ladew photo shoot.  When I started this blog I didn't realize that 80% of it would b/cm garden porn, but here ya go.  As I spend more time at Ladew, I've come to increasingly notice and appreciate the detail and vision of ol' Harv.  The Sculpture Garden featured in this post is a section of the overall gardens I am growing fond of more and more.  Needless to say, each garden (Ladew Gardens has over 22 acres of gardens with separate areas, or garden 'rooms', typified by a given theme) is beautiful in its own way, in different ways, at different parts of the day, in different light, in varying weather conditions, and with the changing seasons.  So come out, ya'll!  It's a wonderful gem in Maryland, just north of Baltimore/Towson.  (Lil' tip:  Best times to visit (if you want a peaceful, less crowded suggestion) are mornings on a weekday, but not Thursdays b/cs that's when we mow the grass!)
