Hot air ballon chasing, cave exploring, castle hunting, mountain hiking, sacred area putzing

This post covers two days, the first being our unsuccessful trek to visit some nearby grottes/caves.  Unfortunately it wasn't that nearby (2 hours), and it was through a bumpy, narrow, seemingly a tad dangerous - albeit gorgeous - route.  Aaaannd, they were closed when we got there, or rather, they wouldn't allow anyone in through the caves due to ice and water.  So the staff were stuffing envelopes in the gift shop and we puttered around for a moment, took some pics, watched the rocks fall onto the parking lot from the above cliff side, and turned around for home.

The next day we drove around the perimeter of Lake Annecy, shopped at the neat jewelry/mineral place with the native American totems, stopped by the castle across from Talloires, got treats at the farmers market at St. Jorioz, and hiked up the hill to the Church of St. Germain.  A lot of stuffs done!, maybe to make up for the day before.
