Had a long and entertaining conversation with my mom. I told her I knew someone at her work. She thought I meant someone had gotten a job there; I meant someone was being held for felony charges (she works at a correctional facility). We laughed.
Another art opening at the lil' HCC gallery. This time a retired Army officer turned professional photographer, Andre Boykin. He was chatty and friendly and seemed to love his work.

Ok, I won't beat around the bush: I WON FREE BRUNCH FOR A YEAR!!!!
We played trivia at a different place tonight, since yesterday was Fat Tuesday and our regular bar booted us out for to make way for reveling. Our substitute place does things differently; they only give a cash prize to the first place winner of the game (our regular place does top three), but they have this little wheel they spin three times a night. Josh put our names in the bucket before trivia started and I was picked last. I wasn't even paying attention to my spin, just sort of hamming it up up there in my hat and coat, ready to leave and hoping for a free dessert or five dollar gift card. And then our trivia host looks at the wheel and says, "That's the best prize on there!" And I was like, "What?" FREE BRUNCH FOR A YEAR!!! The bar was elated for me; I felt like I had won the lottery! Even my grumpy mechanic was there, but we were all friends, smiles and hugs together. VICTORY for team My Heart Barfs When I Look at You!!!!

Woke up and got a later start than I had liked. Visited a great exhibit at the Corcoran: Face in the Crowd, by Alex Prager. It was like staged Where's Waldo scenes with real-life actors. I chuckled, finding a wiener in one.

On the train home I ran into an old friend. Arrived in Baltimore and went up to Hampden for Celebrated Summer's grand re-opening, which showcased photographs by Skizz Cyzyk. Saw more friends. Smiles, laughs, jokes, stories, and cheer. A very good day, overall.
March 8, Saturday
Went to see Apocalypse Now @the Charles.
T., where are you? Do you still have your mind? I imagine you as a back-alley surgeon for crooks, killers, and the mafia somewhere in South America. Maybe something more humane? Who am I to judge? I regret being a poor friend, that time I played an asinine prank. You slipped away; you cut us all off.
The horror, the horror.
March 9, Sunday
Josh back from Cooperstown. Regaled him of my weekend adventures.
March 10, Monday
My regular @work made fun of my haircut. I didn't care; I'm too busy having the BEST WEEK EVER!!!
