365 project: Week 4, Enter March

Feb. 24, 2014 Monday
Helped a girl print her resume; she was on her way to an interview for a hair stylist position.  She was young, trendy, and beautiful - curled auburn bob hair, smokey eyes outlined in black, lips a deep, classic, vintage red.  A brass studded handbag, skinny jeans and booties.  She had a nice smile; I wondered what her natural beauty was like.

Feb. 25, Tuesday
Met a local artist at the college.  There is a small gallery space at the entrance of Joppa Hall, at HCC.  His work was some of the best I've seen this semester, a mix of metal sculpture and photography.  We entered into a conversation about Baltimore and HarCo and art that edged on politics.
Got nailed at trivia again.  The Barfaholics aren't doing so well this season.

Feb. 26, Wednesday
It snowed a-fucking-gain.  It wasn't so bad on my way to work, until I crossed into Baltimore County where I get caught in a White Out.  I mean, a no joke, world is all white, sky and ground, the perimeters of time and space: White.  And this was just moments after I was thinking, 'Man, Hess Road has got to be the prettiest stretch of road in the county --- wait, if only I could SEE IT'.  The car behind me disappeared.  I sighed a bit of relief when I reached Monkton Rd. and saw faint tire tracks.

After work, the ride home was sunny, uneventful, and wonderful.

Wrote and recorded this.

Feb. 28, Friday
My friend, Alex DiMattessa, had an interview posted in PunkNews.  He runs the Grave Mistake record label out of Richmond.  I owe him a debt of gratitude for all the mix tapes he made me (some great, some half-assed) from our youth.  One of the best tapes he ever gave me was a demo from an Annapolis band we'd seen at Memory Lane called The Invisibles.  It was poor quality and had no song titles, but I didn't care; it was a prize.  I had a not-so-secret crush on one of the members and could not believe Alex had the where-with-all to attain such a treasure.  I also had a crush on one of the members of Universal Order of Armageddon/The Great Unraveling who worked at our local record store.  I'd like to further extend my debt of gratitude to Alex for not embarrassing me to death in front of said record store clerk.  (Unless he did, and I've just buried it in the depths of my memory in some sort of trauma ward of my psyche.)  Anyway, kudos to my kiddo.  Now go buy some records from him.

I don't remember much else about Friday.  I laughed a lot and probably shrieked, wondering how much the neighbors could here.  I think Josh and I were watching a bunch of tv, like China, IL, and other stuff.  Sometimes my laugh is just a piercing scream.  And sometimes it sounds like this

Someone in the middle of nowhere, Maryland, got rid of some kinky leather heels and thigh high boots.

March 1, Saturday
Josh went to the beach to help move a couch.  I thrifted in Hampstead.  The Goodwill there prices everything individually (?), but has a color label on sale each week.  I don't think I got anything on sale.

March 2, Sunday
Worked.  Chatted with a regular who gave me a hard time for not knowing a phrase in Tagalog.  I think he was telling me about some Filipino-brand beer.  This gentleman comes in every week and gives one of my long-standing coworkers a hard time, especially in regards to football.  Here's an example:  After the Superbowl he came in to rib my coworker hardcore.  Then we got into a conversation about Phillip Seymour Hoffman.  Without missing a beat he said, "I think he was killed from an errant pass by Tom Brady.  Hit him on the head and he was done."  My coworker flipped out and said, "He Did NOT!"
I like this guy.  He likes attention, but isn't creepy about it.  In turn, I try to give him a hard time when applicable.  One of my joys of working in a small town.

do yourself a favor and go watch Spaced!
March 3, Monday
Snow day!  We got another half-foot.  The library was actually closed today!  This was surprising b/cs my system prides itself on being open and accessible.  Competing with the postal system?  I don't know.

Josh and I finished Spaced, a British comedy series starring Simon Pegg and Jessica Hynes.  Loved it!  It was only two seasons, but I really enjoyed it and highly recommend it, especially if you're a geek/nerd/spazzmo and hankering for a flashback to the late 90s and early 2000s.

I also 'accidentally' kneed Josh in the gems today.  It was supposed to be funny!  I say accidentally b/cs I feign doing it often as a physical humor/joke thing, you know?  B/cs that shit's funny, ammi right?!  But then I felt contact and I felt really bad.  I think he intends to keep this in his back pocket forever and never, ever let me forget it.

And on that note...
